pute day.

thanks to my employers at the bird, nick and i had a super thanksgiving filled with drumsticks, the wu tang clan, other amis, team iceland, and most importantly, cranberry sauce. sadly, i opt for the ocean spray canned jelly-glob variety, but yesterday we had the real deal.
the word for turkey in german is pute. we learned this early on when we found a cafe that sells turkey baguettes for 1 euro each. i laugh every time i order one because it is pronounced the same way as the spanish word "puta", which does not mean turkey at all. haha.
i spent part of the night playing pool. i've always had dreams of billiard grandeur ever since i saw the "family matters" episode where eddie plays pool for money, makes a lot, bets it all against a real "shark", and then must call his sharpshooting grandmother to come bail his ass out. ahhh, UPN 9. memories... but what a great job for someone like me who hates work. i'd love to be really good at pool and swindle drunk men out of money. last night i won quite a few games which made me wonder: am i good, did the other people suck worse than me, or am i just really lucky? i don't have the patience for all that bend-down-check -the-geometry-of-your-next-shot-rub-the-blue-dicey thing-on-the-end-of-the-stick stuff. i just slash and burn. so maybe i was just lucky.
I also earned NJ some credentials when i held my own during a "deep fried vs. oven roasted turkey" discussion with a man from Louisiana.
jenks had her fair share of scraps from the table. we are still calculating the figures, but we think she moved a total of 13 feet today. diagnosis: turkey coma.
unfortunately it seems the dollar is sucking more than usual.
i am almost done with infinite jest.

jenks had me beat - i moved from the table to the couch, 5 feet. later i had a cigarette, 7 feet. then i fell asleep.

glad you guys had a turkey day!

and for the record, my family had an oven turkey AND a deep fry'd one... that, is how it's done in the FC (franklin county)

ah, but is infinite jest done with you? I've had to read it twice more, and I don't think it's finished having its twisted way with me yet.

In other news, happy birthday.
